Plot Summary: This is a book about two children called Jakob and Mari who are trapped in a world of wild magic. Elvendale is a very beautiful place indeed but, it is also a very dangerous, and cruel place. But before they can return home they must brave the enchantments of the dark, Whispering Forest, where even the elves are forbidden to enter. Finn is a half elf and trespassed through the Whispering Forest and from that day he held a curse that, every full moon he would turn into the most fearsome beast that even he was unable to control. Personal Response: I really enjoyed this book especially how he makes the characters relate to each other. Also the language that he uses is easy to understand so I was able to understand really thouroghly. I like how he uses a range of different names for the deadly species and I have fun trying to pronounce them. This book definitely caputured my attention so much that I never wanted to put it down. It is really great read and I would recomend it to children between 12-14.
